Occupational Health Centre

Steps to be Followed When an Employee Complains of Illness:

Initial Reporting:

The OT Senior/Group Leader or Team Leader should immediately send the employee to the First Aid Room / Medical Room / Health Centre.

Providing Medical Aid:

Nurses will follow the intervention routine as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and advice given by the MBBS Medical Officers.

In Case the Patient is Stable and Needs to be Sent Home:

a) Inform the patient’s immediate supervisor or team leader.
b) The Duty Medical Officer will assess the situation and, if appropriate, sign the gate pass.
c) The patient can go home either by themselves or with the assistance of a hospital ambulance (if needed).

Follow-Up:

The patient’s condition will be reviewed by the Duty Medical Officer the next working day.

Steps to be taken in case a patient requires medical attention or a hospital visit:
  1. In case of an emergency that cannot be treated with first aid, the next step is to inform the TL/QL of the particular employee.or
In case an employee is at a working site… medical staff should go there,& take desired actions.
  2. Immediately call the company’s ambulance and ask them to take the patient to the preferred/designated hospital urgently. The nursing staff will accompany the patient.(For both cases mentioned above)
  3. Expenses incurred at the hospital will be borne by the patient/employee themselves. Or company/employer will assist.
  4. If the patient has been treated at the expected hospital after initially being given first aid:
•He/She will be called for feedback.
•The incident will be reported to the designated department of the company.

Note:
All company medical staff, including doctors and nurses, are trained and experienced in performing CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), which can save lives and significantly increase the chances of survival until medical help arrives.

What is CPR?
CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) is an emergency life-saving procedure performed when the heart stops beating.
